St Peter’s Cambridge is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with all the provisions and principles of the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This privacy policy applies to all information collected by St Peter’s School, Cambridge, New Zealand. St Peter’s Cambridge recognises the importance of protecting an individual’s privacy and is fully committed to following the regulations set out by the Privacy Act 2020. This Privacy Statement tells you what information we collect and why, what we do with it, and your rights to view, correct or change it.

Information Collection
We do not collect personal information such as names and email addresses unless you have knowingly provided that information. We collect personal information for web transactions, newsletters and emails, and general inquiries. We only use this information for the intended services. For some services, we may request information about background, occupation, demographics, and interests.

We may collect information about computer hardware and software such as IP addresses, browser types, domain names, access times, and the referring websites that visitors use to access web pages. We use this information to maintain the quality of the service and to collect general statistics.

Information Disclosure
We collect personal information to deliver the services you request and to understand our audience so that we can better meet their needs. We do not sell, share, trade, or rent any personal information. We may compile aggregate statistics and provide them to third parties, but we do not include information that identifies individual website users.

What Type of Information Is Collected When You Visit the St Peter’s Foundation or Alumni Website?

We do not collect personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary. This policy is your guide to how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our website.

Visitor Information

We collect and store the following information about visitors to our site: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet, the date and time you access our site, and the Internet address of the website from which you linked to our site. Cookies may be used to remember visitor preferences when interacting with the website. We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, and to help us make our site more useful to visitors.

Donating and/or Registering for Events

St Peter’s School collects and uses personal information from donors including: names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and donation dates/amounts. We use this information to:

  • Provide and distribute charitable tax receipts;
  • Send out donor acknowledgment letters and thank donors for their donations;
  • We may use this information to keep supporters informed about upcoming events at St Peter’s
  • Communicate to our supporters through direct mails, email and newsletters.

Sending us an Email

You may decide to send us personally identifying information, for example, in an email containing a question or comment, or by filling out a web form that provides us this information. We use this information from an email primarily to respond to your requests. We may forward your email to other employees who are better able to answer your questions.

If you sign up for one of our email lists, we will only send you the kinds of information you have requested. We won’t share your name or email address with any outside parties. If at any time, you would like to correct the Personal Information we have about you or if you would like to change your preferences for contacts from us, you can let us know by contacting us at the following addresses. St Peter’s will make good faith efforts to implement requested changes in our active databases. Note, however, that we may keep information you update or change for St Peter’s administrative purposes. Also, it is not always possible to completely remove or delete all of your information from our databases, and residual data may remain on backup media or for other reasons.

Unsolicited Emails

If you would like to unsubscribe from our email list, please use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our newsletter emails or contact us at foundation@stpeters.school.nz. However, please note that even if you opt-out of receiving marketing communications or donor requests, we reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to your use of our Site, service announcements, notices of changes to this Privacy Policy or other Site policies, or similar administrative or transactional messages. These transactional messages may be unaffected if you choose to opt-out from marketing communications.

Opt-Out or Change your Contact Information

If you are receiving communication from us that you wish to update, request a correction to your personal information or you no longer wish to receive, then please contact us at foundation@stpeters.school.nz. You will always have the option to opt-in and opt-out of communications at any time.

Every effort is made to keep the website up and running smoothly. However, St Peter’s School takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the website being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control.

Receipting of Charitable Donations
Receipts for online one-off donations are provided via email or letter, once the payment has been processed. Regular giving donation receipts will be issued at the end of each financial year.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
All transactions are processed in $NZD. If you wish to cancel a donation or event registration you must contact us, and provide us with 10 working days’ notice. Any refunds will be at the discretion of St Peter’s School. If you have donated you need to withdraw dispute please contact us at foundation@stpeters.school.nz

Use of Text and Images
St Peter’s School reserves all copyrights on material within its web pages. If you would like to publish information or imagery that you find on our website or wish to use the St Peter’s School logo please contact the Advancement Office foundation@stpeters.school.nz

Security and Online Payment Processing
We employ commercially reasonable security methods and technologies to help secure the Personal Information we collect and store. Donor information is stored within a donor management database. Access to the database is restricted to personnel with a legitimate business need to access or modify the information contained therein. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. We therefore cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us, or that we transmit to you, or guarantee that it will be free from unauthorized access by third parties.

St Peter’s School uses Blackbaud products for payment processing and data storage. Blackbaud has modified every one of its applications that processes, stores and transmits cardholder data based on PCI DSS and PA-DSS compliance standards. Blackbaud represents that it fully adheres to PCI standards regarding secure storage of data, strong access control and other requirements. For further information on this subject please visit Blackbaud’s PCI Compliance page. Since we use a vendor to process credit card payments made through the Site and to store associated payment data, St Peter’s does not directly collect such credit card information, nor does St Peter’s store or have access to credit card information submitted online. For donations made offline, St Peter’s may directly collect, store or have access to credit card information for processing payments, but this follows PCI standards.

Third Parties Providing Services on Our Behalf
Companies may be engaged by St Peter’s School to perform a variety of functions, such as assisting with donation collection, providing technical services for our Internet sites, or creating mailing lists for the school magazine. Such companies may have access to Personal Information if needed to perform certain functions. However, these companies may use such Personal Information only for the purpose of performing that function and may not use it for any other purpose.

Administrative and Legal Requirements
St Peter’s reserves the right to use or disclose any information (including Personal Information) as needed to satisfy any law, regulation or legal request, to protect the integrity of the site, to fulfil your requests, or to cooperate in any law enforcement investigation or an investigation on a public safety matter, to protect and defend the legal rights or property of St Peter’s, our Site or its users, or any other party, or in an emergency, to protect the health and safety of our users or the general public.

Social Networking Features
Functionality on the Site may permit interactions that you initiate between the Site and a third-party website or service such as Twitter or Facebook (“Social Networking Features”). Examples of Social Networking Features include enabling you to “like” or “share” content from the Site or to “like” or “share” our page on a third-party service; to automatically or selectively show your social media posts/tweets on the Site; to create a St Peter’s account or personal profile using existing login information from a social-network (known as a social login); and to otherwise connect the Site to a third-party website or service. If you choose to share content or to otherwise post information through the Site to a third-party site or service, or vice versa, that information may be publicly displayed. Also, both we and the third party may have access to certain information about you and your use of the Site and the third-party site or service. If you choose to use a social login, we may collect Personal Information including your name and email address. The information we collect in connection with Social Networking Features is subject to this Privacy Policy. The information collected and stored by the third party remains subject to the third party’s privacy practices, including whether the third party continues to share information with us, the types of information shared, and your choices with regard to what is visible to others on that third-party website or service.

Business Transfers & Transitions 
In the event St Peter’s goes through a transition (such as a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy or sale of all or a portion of its assets, including, without limitation, during the course of any due diligence process), your Personal Information will likely be among the assets transferred. By providing your Personal Information, you agree that we may transfer such information to the acquiring entity without your further consent.
